Vancouver Canucks vs. Winnipeg Jets (2011) When the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg at the end of the 2010-11 season, the team was again named the Jets. It marked the first time since 1970-71 that two different franchises would have the same name. That's why there are two pages listing records for this team. For their first two seasons, the Jets were in the Southeast Division and they only played Vancouver once. With the league restructuring for 2013-14, the two teams meet a little more often. The teams have been evenly matched overall so far. The Canucks and this version of the Jets have not met in the playoffs. Historical Notes: Ryan Kesler was the first Canuck to score against the Jets ... Henrik Sedin played his 1000th NHL game and 1000th game as a Canuck in Winnipeg (March 12, 2014) ... Luca Sbisa was the first Canuck to score an overtime winner against the Jets (February 3, 2015) |
