Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks joined the NHL for the 1991-92 season when the Minnesota North Stars were split in half. During the Sharks' first two seasons, the Canucks dominated the games. Since then, the two teams have been almost even. The Canucks have met the Sharks in the playoffs twice.

Historical Notes: The Vancouver Canucks were the Sharks first ever opponents both on the road and at home ... Former Canuck Craig Coxe scored the first goal in Sharks franchise history ... Geoff Courtnall was the first Canuck to score against the Sharks ... Igor Larionov recorded all three goals in a 3-2 victory over San Jose (December 28, 1991) ... Alexander Mogilny recorded his first hat trick as a Canuck against Wade Flaherty (October 14, 1995) ... The Canucks and Sharks have been involved in two scoreless ties (December 18, 1997 and February 8, 2001).
