Vancouver Canucks vs. New Jersey Devils

The Colorado Rockies moved to New Jersey following the 1981-82 season. The Devils were not a very good team for the rest of the 1980's and the Canucks won most games between the two clubs. In the 1990's, the two teams split their wins and losses with each other almost evenly. More recently, the wins have come more frequently for the Canucks. The Canucks have never met the Devils in the playoffs.

Historical Notes: Darcy Rota was the first Canuck to score against the Devils ... In one of his first trades, Pat Quinn sent Patrik Sundstrom and two draft picks to New Jersey for Kirk McLean, Greg Adams and a draft pick (September 10, 1987) ... Rich Sutter scored all three goals in a 3-2 victory over the Devils (October 20, 1989) ... Mike Fountain recorded a shutout over New Jersey in his first NHL game (November 14, 1996) ... The Canucks and Devils did not meet in 2006-07.
