Double Header
Data
One of the NHL's
"new" concepts for 2005-06 was the
"double-header". Two teams meet in back-to-back
games in the same city (as opposed to the home-and-home
series). While this is common in the playoffs, it is rare
in the regular season. However, the concept was
originally used as a cost-saving mesaure by the league in
the 1980's. Prior to the 2005-06 season, the Canucks were
involved in 14 double-headers. The
"double-header" concept did not continue after
2005-06.

Notes
* The Canucks were originially scheduled to
host the Flyers on December 12, 1975, but the game was
postponed because of a snow storm. When Philadelphia
returned for their scheduled meeting in February, they
played both games.
Stats and records up to
the end of the 2015-16 season. Basically, this means
I checked the schedule and they didn't play a
double-header in 2015-16.
