The Canucks were basically out of the playoff picture by November. To make matters worse, Canuck management continued making questionable deals. Despite an adequate performance from Barry Pederson, he would always be remembered as the player we got for Cam Neely. The Canucks also lost the services of J.J. Daigneault, Rick Lanz, Thomas Gradin, Doug Halward, Jere Gillis and Jiri Bubla. In January, the news came down that the Canucks had found the "superboss" they had been looking for. Unfortunately, Pat Quinn was coaching the Los Angeles Kings at the time. Despite the legal problems this caused, Quinn took over as General Manager just after the season.
