Vancouver Canucks vs. Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings entered the NHL for the 1967-68 season. During the 1970s and 1980s, the Kings usually won contests between the two teams. Beginning in the late 1980s, the Canucks dominated the Kings for several seasons. More recently and overall, the two teams have been more evenly matched. The Canucks and Kings have met in the playoffs five times.

Historical Notes: The Canucks played host to the Los Angeles Kings in their first NHL game on October 9, 1970 ... Barry Wilkins scored the first NHL goal in Canuck history against the Kings ... Bobby Schmautz recorded his first hat trick against the Kings (November 17, 1972) ... Steve Tambellini set a team record by scoring six seconds into the second period against Los Angeles (January 18, 1986) ... The Canucks tied a team record for most goals in a game by beating Los Angeles 11-5 (November 25, 1986) ... The Kings were the first team that the Canucks played 100 regular season games against (December 23, 1987) ...
