Vancouver Canucks vs. Buffalo Sabres The Buffalo Sabres joined the NHL the same season as the Vancouver Canucks. Both franchises have had their ups and downs and for the past thirty years, they have matched up rather evenly. The two teams have met in the playoffs twice. Historical Notes: Len Lunde was the first Canuck to score against the Sabres ... Dunc Wilson stopped Paul Andrea on the first penalty shot awarded during a Canuck game (November 5, 1970) ... Rosaire Paiement became the first Canuck to score four goals in a game (February 9, 1971) against Roger Crozier ...
