Vancouver Canucks vs. Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins were one of the "original six" teams when the Canucks joined the NHL in 1970-71. Back then, the Bruins were one of the premiere teams in the league and Canuck wins over the Big Bad Bruins were special indeed. In recent years, the teams have been more evenly matched, although Canuck wins in Boston are still relatively rare. In 2011, the Canucks and Bruins met in the Stanley Cup Finals. Each team won their home games until the Bruins won the cup in game seven in Vancouver.

Historical Notes: Former Bruin Gary Doak was the first player the Canucks selected in their expansion draft ... Orland Kurtenbach was the first Canuck to score against the Bruins ... Rosaire Paiement's five point night against the defending Stanley Cup champions ranks as one of the highlights of the Canucks' first NHL season ... The Bruins hold the NHL record for scoring three goals in just 20 seconds; they set that record against the Canucks ... The Canucks once overcame a 3-0 deficit by scoring three goals in the final five minutes of the game to earn a 3-3 tie (November 2, 1979) ... Bruin Normand Leveille's last NHL game was against the Canucks (October 23, 1982) ... The Canucks won their last game at Boston Gardens and their first game at the Fleet Center ... The Canucks and Bruins did not meet in 2007-08 ... Daniel Sedin scored his 347th goal as a Canuck, becoming the team's all-time leading goal scorer in Boston (January 21, 2016)
