Canuck Streaks
When the
Canucks won ten games in a row during November 2002, they
set a team record. What's more surprising about this
winning streak is that all the games were won in
regulation time. In other words, none of the other teams
were able to earn a single point for losing in overtime.
The Canucks broke two streaks at one time. Tthe Canucks
even tied their record for longest unbeaten
streak (up to that point). It was an impressive run.
There are two
categories for Canuck streaks. The first is in
consecutive games and the second is against a single
team. In addition,
there are many new kinds of streaks in the era of a single point for
an overtime or shootout loss.

Notes
Starting in
the 1999-2000 season, teams losing in overtime receive a
single point. This means that new streaks are possible.
For example, the Canucks could lose five games in a row
but earn three points (because they lost three games in
overtime). In my books that counts as a losing streak,
but not a "pointless" streak. Similarly, the
Canucks could be on a winning streak, but if they win a
couple of games in overtime, the opposition hasn't really
lost. Thus the creation of the "streak where
opponents get no points". (boy, I wish I had a
catchy name for this type of streak). Of course,
losing streaks prior to 1999-2000 will also count as
"pointless" streaks (because in the old
days, you didn't get a point when you lost -- you just
lost).
All streaks in this
section are for regular season games only.
Streaks against one team
current up to the end of the 2015-16 season.
