After a strong inaugural season, the Canucks did not fare as well in their second season. Despite the efforts of newcomers Dennis Kearns, Bobby Schmautz rookie Jocelyn Guevremont and netminder Ed Dyck, the team actually finished last overall in the NHL for the first (and so far only) time in their history. Still, on most nights you could count on players like Andre Boudrias, Orland Kurtenbach, Wayne Maki, Dale Tallon, Pat Quinn and John Schella to give you an honest effort.
